Conditions of participation in the Jan Edmund Jurkowski Memorial Guitar Competition during 14th Silesian Guitar Autumn

 

The competition is open to all guitarists under 30 years of age by December 31 2012.

Applicants should forward:

Deadline: August 14th 2012.

The total fee for a contestant is 320 EURO. Within this amount, the organisers ensure accommodation and board, passive and active participation in master classes and all festival events.

The registration fee, 50 EURO should be paid until August 14th 2012. The remaining amount 270 EURO should be paid in cash just before the Festival at the office cash-desk. The registration fee cannot be refunded under any circumstances.

Admission to the competition will be confirmed by August 28th 2012.

Travel costs and insurance are to be covered by the contestants themselves.

The participants of the competition should check in at the Festival Office on October 8rd 2012 by 10 pm.

First stage

Free programme – total time 13 - 15 minutes.

J. E. Jurkowski : Sonata Akademicka

M. M. Ponce : Sonata III

M. M. Ponce : Sonata Clásica

M. M. Ponce : Sonata Romántica

J. Rodrigo: Sonata Giocosa

R. Sierra: Sonata para guitarra

F. Sor : Grande Sonata op. 22

F. Sor : Seconda Grande Sonata op. 25

 

2. Free programme

Total time of second stage – 35 – 40 minutes.

 

Third stage

One of the following concertos: 

 

M. Castelnuovo - Tedesco - Concerto No.1 in D major, Op. 99

M. M. Ponce - Concierto del Sur

J. Rodrigo - Concierto de Aranjuez

 

All performances in the competition must be made entirely from memory.

The competitors will be judged by the international jury.

The final results will be calculated as the sum of points scored at second and third stage.

All performances in the competition are open for the public.

The organisers of the competition reserve the right to record the final concert and broadcast it on the redio and television, and also to promote such materials in the media. No financial claims can be made by participants.

Prize-winners are obliged to make recordings for television and radio stations on no-fee basis, as well as video and audio recordings for the production of CDs that will document the competition.

Prize-winners are obliged to participate in a prize-winners’ concert on a no-fee basis.
